YAML (delimited by ---), TOML (delimited by +++), and JSON (delimited by ;;;). The three most common variants, covering Jekyll, Hugo, Astro, 11ty, Zola, Docusaurus, and Next.js.

Does it handle nested data?

The internal parser handles flat key/value pairs, simple arrays, inline arrays, multi-line lists, booleans, numbers, and nulls — covering 95% of real-world frontmatter. Deeply nested maps fall through as strings.

Can I convert between YAML and TOML?

Yes. Paste a file with YAML frontmatter, switch the output format to TOML, and copy the result. Round-trip between YAML, JSON, and TOML.

What happens if there's no frontmatter?

The body output shows the original document unchanged, and the frontmatter section is empty. The source format chip reads 'none'.
